Anyone remember reading about the locking lugs shearing off on these rifles? I know I read something on one of these web forums about it. Someones interested in one and I want to give them a heads up on any problems.

THANKS Bruce! I've never been to that site, but it's a start. Now atleast I know I wasn't dreaming! What I read stated that a pin or pins that supposedly hold the bolt head w/locking lugs to the bolt body had sheared off.

I'd take that post with a huge grain of salt.

Anyone that blew the left side of their face wouldn't be likely to have their buddy asking around on the internet "Gee, why do you think this happened?" Besides, how does one blow off the left side of their face with a right hand rifle? I don't think a left hand ATR is even made.

Thegman,I know where your coming from, but the post I can't find mentioned nothing about an injury. I have found out, for sure, that the ATR bolt is made the way they described it. What has me confused is that I don't have that many forums I view and they are well respected. Got me thinking that maybe the post was pulled or deleted because usually I can track down what I'm looking for. I had no reason to keep track of the post as I had no intention of buying an ATR nor did I know anyone who was. Anyway I passed along what I've found out to the guy wanting opinions on the ATR at our WV forum. That's all I can do. Thanks guys,I APPRECIATE! the replies.
