I'm looking at replaceing the stock on my daughters Remington Model 7, it currently has the factory camo syn. stock. I'd like to purchase one that has a aluminum bedding block. Can anyone recommend a good quality replacement stock for the model 7.
I really like the Bell & Carlson Medalist stocks but I don't think they make one for the model 7. Any info would be greatly appreciated. THANKS.......

i dunno. i tried ordering from the site in the link and i kept getting an error message. i still need to get one for a 673 Guide rifle, but to date i have not.

I would be looking to get a Bansner's High Tech stock for that rifle, if it were me.

I have two model 7s riding in standard mcmillans and soon to be a third in a mcmillan edge. I'm sure there are stocks just as good, but it's hard to imagine any better.

I stocked my Daughter's 260 with a McM Mountain Rifle pattern with a 1/2" pad, so that I could easily lengthen it with a 1" pad when she gets a little taller.

Although a McM stock is genreally more expensive then a Bansnar/HTS or B&C, it is a lifetime investment, so if you amortize the cost over 20 or 30 or 40 years, you get a great stock for less than the cost of a daily cup of coffee.

I've been the budget guy at my last 3 churches, so my pitch has been to tell folks that we need to increase of revenues by x per week to meet our obligations, which, when divided by all of the member households is equal to an average of $3.50 per week per member household. How can you argue against increasing your contributions by $3.50 per week or $182.00 per year. Heck, round it up to $5.00 per week or $260.00 per year.

When guys tell me that they can't afford a nice rifle and scope, I tell them to set up a "Gun Club" savings account and put $20 per week into it. At the end of the year, they have $1,040 put aside. If $1,040 won't pay for what you want, put $25 aside per week and you'll have $1,300.00. $20 per week is what you can save by eating PB&J x3 each week for lunch, rather than going out for fast food.

Or, consider that Rick's sale price for McM stocks is $438. $438 is $36.50 per month, or $8.42 per week, or $1.20 per day. So, for less than the daily cost of a large cup of coffee at Kum & Go, you could pay for a McM stock. Is that a good deal or what?

I have two model 7's in Bansner stocks and am very happy with them. However, unless you do the fitting work on the stock yourself, you will have about the same dollars in a Bansner after inletting, installing the recoil pad and painting that a McMillan will cost.

That is why I prefer to buy McM and not Bansnar/HTS stocks.
