After reading a bunch of positive reviews on the Howa Alpine, I've decided I'd put my version of one together with the accumulated Howa SA items I have in the shop. I have a B&C Medalist stock, detachable mag bottom metal, detachable mags, Talley lightweight ring/base combos and a Leupold VX-3i 2.5-8x36. Brownell's has the 20" and 22" barreled actions, Bud's is out of stock, Midway USA doesn't have them... any other place to look? Thanks in advance, Dean.

Whittaker's has the basic Howa 1500 Lightening rifles in 7mm-08 listed as being in stock and priced at $329.99. I doubt that you'll find it for less elsewhere.

Thanks 260Remguy. Whittaker's has good prices, but they're sold out of just about anything Howa at the moment. I'm looking for a barreled action, preferably a 20" cerakote gray like an Alpine. Want to use up the parts I have in the shop.

I was able to add that item to my cart, so I assumed that if they could be added to the shopping cart, they were available.

Your original post was less specific about what you were looking for, good luck in your search, patience is a virtue when gathering the components of a build.

EDIT: My thoughts were that you could probably buy a complete rifle for less $$ from Whittaker's than a barreled action from Brownell's or any other place that I normally source such things.

We sold out of the Alpine Thursday or Friday. We don't stock the barreled actions, but I can order you anything you want....

And FYI -- we're moving into the new store next door beginning May 21st. I'm holding off stocking orders until then. We have enough to move as is!

I'll special order anything we don't have in stock in the interim, but the "big" stocking orders won't hit the door until May 25th or so.

Thought of that too. Get the rifle, send the barreled action off to get a cerakote job... sell the factory stock... would end up being a little cheaper but take a little more time.
