I don't believe I've ever come across a rock chuck this blonde before. Any of you other "chuck-hunters" ever kill one like this?

VERY cool! Yep, he needs to become a rug at a minimum, and maybe a full body mount. Nice score.

I shot a rockchuck last week that had BLUE EYES! One blue to the left, and one blue over to the right a ways ...... smile

I've never shot rock chucks before, but that looks kind of cool. Hows it going?

Cool chuck, definate full body mount.

All the 2nd pic needs is someone sitting a bit lower and back a few feet and it'd fit right in on some bruin threads...grin

Dober

(seriously, are gonna mount that critter?)

Mark, thinking about it, but if I get it done I want someone that is exceptional at small animals. Will be giving Mark Smart of Great Falls Taxidermy a call tomorrow. If he's not comfortable with it, I imagine he can give a good recommendation.

It's not albino, just blonde. It has dark brown eyes and a dark nose, no pink skin features anywhere.

Big Sky: Nifty Varmint trophy you harvested there!
Good for you.
No I have never shot a Rock Chuck that light in color.
And I do not remember seeing one that light in color either.
I have seen and shot a few "dark" Rock Chucks in Idaho - these Chucks were no where near black in color but just real dark chocolatey color.
I have seen pictures though of "black" colored Wood Chucks - again never seen a really light color phase Chuck like you have there.
I would get it mounted or at least "rugged" if I were you.
Again congrats and good job.

I can't complain too much. I'm back to roughnecking, kinda hard on this old body, but the money is way good.

Full mount is my vote.

What bullet and weight at what velocity and range?

I'd consider that to be a trophy.

any ideas of the mount position that you might do Troy?

Laws aren't preventative measures. In other words, more laws won't prevent gun crime from happening.
