Stopped in a local gun store and he had riverswest hunting clothes. Looked it up on the net and they have a nice selection.
Anyone own their stuff.
I'm thinking of buying a pants and jacket for a 2013 moose hunt in Newfoundland.
The shop owner used them up there and had high marks for them. Don't know what they cost.

It does not breathe at all! If you plan on walking at all I'd look for something else

I've got 4 complete sets of all of their weights. Like huntsonora said, the stuff does not breathe....at all! It will breathe for just a little, but the second the outside gets wet it's all over but the cryin'! It is absolutely wind and waterproof though. I'm talking 60mph and sideways rain proof. It is heavy even when dry and for my hunting the coast range here in OR it's waaay too damn warm for the hiking that I do. If you don't hike much and it's cold, windy or raining hard it's hard to beat and you can walk through blackberry briars without tearing them up. I've switched to Sitka Gear and Kuiu stuff for my backpacking gear and leave the Rivers West gear for sitting on the landings.

Jeff_O talked me into giving their stuff a try.

As others have said, it doesn't breath. As an alternative to neoprene raingear which I often wear hunting in the coast range, that's neither better nor worse.

There are 2 things I don't like. (1) The [bleep] does pretty much require wearing something under it 'cause otherwise it's horribly clammy feeling stuff. (2) I don't know who their freakin' MODEL is but it's not some 5'8" 190 pounder like me, its gotta be some skinny little fugger. To get pants with legs short enough they don't drag on the ground, the waist is so small I damn hear bruise.

I won't do any more Rivers West stuff.

On the other hand ... I'd like to know who the model for neoprene rain gear is ... I think his pecker hangs out his belly button. frown frown Why have a fly if an anatomically correct person can't pee out it?

.. not that I have any opinions, mind you.

Anyone who thinks there's two sides to everything hasn't met a Mbius strip.

Here be dragons ...
