Hi Guys,

I bought two 700ml's. One is going smokeless and the other will not. I am looking for a 209 conversion kit. Anyone have on for sale or know the best place to get one.

Thanks,

Rob

Hoz,- I've looked at several and the one from Hunter over at Doug's boards seems to always come to the front for function and cost. Good luck!!

How are you "going smokeless" with a 700ML?

A guy at Remington customer service told me that the 209 conversion isn't recommended, as the shotgun primers can push the whole load forward in the barrel before the powder ignites. They recommend using musket caps.

Gun Parts Corp, www.gunpartscorp.com, used to have all the 700 ML conversion parts for both musket caps and 209 primers.

Jeff,
One of my 700's is getting a McGowen barrel set up for smokeless. It uses a special aftermarket bolt kit and a Savage breechplug. I picked up another one for a kid that is going on a trip with me. I want to use BH 209 in that, but I have been told it doesnt work real well out of a stock 700ml. I may just have to use pellets with that one.

Been using the Rem 700 with 209s for several years .I've had excellent results with CCI primers and loose 777.I too want to move up to BH209 but in my experience it doesn't ignite well with the vented 209 nipple that comes stock with the Rem..

Hoz--Check your PMs.

Can you provide more details about the smokeless conversion of Remington 700 MLs?
