Have these two been compared against each other for expansion quickness, diameter of expansion, and penetration? Does the tipped lead make much difference vs the pure mono?
Thanks,

I've shot each in paper media. Typically they both perform exceptionally. I did have one shot where the TBT blew the entire front half off. Not unlike examples where a TTSX blows the petals off. I rate them as two of the absolute finest. I have not shot a critter with a TBT though.

I've certainly tried to get them to sell me some .338 200 Trophy Bonded Tips! Can't bring myself to hunt with factory ammo.

I found a couple 100 pull down TBT 130 .277 bullet recently from Rocky Mountain Reloading. I think I'll give them a shot in my 270.. They seem like great Bullets.

You can't go wrong with either one.

I've shot both the 165 g. factory .308 and the 180 gr. factory 30'06. The .308 ammo, both the original TB and the TBT were no better than 2.5 MOA in my M70 Stainless Fwt. But the 180 gr. '06 stuff shot right at MOA out of my custom 98 Mauser w/ Pac-Nor barrel.
I've pulled the bullets of both the TB and the TBT and tried to reload them. I could get the original TB to shoot very well in my M70 Fwt. But the TBT I found was so slick, I couldn't even crimp it into place and make it stay put. Nickel plated bullet.
I've killed stuff with both the original TB and the TTSX. Yes, they expand readily and penetrate very well. You can eat right up to the bullet hole with both.
So, as far as I'm concerned, if I want to use the TBT, I'm stuck with factory ammo. I can reload the TTSX. E

Northfork over either of those two

Throttle fixes everything. If it doesn't fix the problem, it’ll end the suspense.
