Are Reloader powders still considered temperature sensitive or have they been improved in that regard? I use RL 15, 19, and 22 doing most of my load development in spring and summer and obviously hunting in fall and winter.

I'm by no means an expert but have been using RL15 and it seems to be very consistent at varying temperatures. Haven't had the chance to use the other two yet.

RL-15 advertises as temp insensative... can't remember where, but I think I saw it once while reading the fine print on the label.

RL-19 doesn't, nor does -22 if I recall correctly.

Not in their wildest dreams. I have to add 2MOA of come-up to my 100 yard zero when shooting 600 yard matches when the weather gets cold. For the average hunter it may not be an issue, YMMV grin

I have used RL22 in the 25-06 since 1991. From +85 to -40. I have not noticed any performance issues when it is cold. But probably most of my load development has been in the spring or more likely the fall. So the difference in performance, if any, wouldn't be as great when it is colder, as there is not as big difference in temp (eg: load developed in Florida in summer heat and humidity, sea level, then you come to Alberta in November when it is -25, dry and 3000ft above sea level.)

Whether it is or isn't, as AJ said, for the average hunter or shooter it does not matter. It would be equally true for them to advertise it as fat-free, zero cholesterol and low-sodium. They don't matter, either. The ATK Reloder powders are excellent products. They measure well, they are clean-burning, and they are fairly consistent batch to batch. RL-15 provides great performance in an astounding variety of cartridges - just peruse any loading manual.

I use a lot of RL15. Very good results. Certain cartridges do well with 19 & 22, as well. My Bob shoots little groups with 100gr ballistic tips and 47gr of 19.

Per Alliant's website, only Reloder 15 and 17 provide consistent results at varying temperatures.
