Eileen wanted me to let everybody know we just got in new supplies of the Berger and #7 Nosler manuals. The prices are $35 for the Berger and $28.50 for the Nosler, and both prices INCLUDE media mail to anywhere in the United States.

That's typical of me; I did this backwards. I ordered a Nosler #7 from Rifles & Recipes a couple hours ago, and now I see this thread. 
I saw a movie where only the military and the police had guns. It was called Schindler's List.

MD, I'm going to call and order a copy of the Nosler #7 anyway, but I'm curious if they, or anyone, has shot any .300 Savage data with IMR 8208 XBR. The stuff works very nicely in my .223, and I'd like to use it in my .300 and .30-30 as well, since I have plenty around. I've found .30-30 data, but, alas, noone seems to shoot new .300 Savage data anymore! The paperbound Hodgdon/IMR manual doesn't list the .300 at all  .

For .300 Savage I still haven't found a load for a 150 gr bullet better than 42 gr of 4064. Granted that these days its over max but, given a discussion involving Mule Deer in the Savage Collector's Forum a '50s or later 99 should be able to deal with that pressure. Well, maybe 44 grain would be better but even I'm not quite that foolish.

Thanks, Skidrow. That was my uncle's load, if I remember correctly, and it killed a lot of Eastern Montana mule deer. I've used IMR 4064 (first powder I ever loaded, with a Lee Loader and a .308) in the .300 as well, but I'm looney enough to really want to try 8208. Not cause I have to, but cause I want to!
