Are there any problems or issues with shooting a 458 win mag in a 458 Lott?

I would only do it in an emergency if my Lott ammo got lost in transit while on Safari.
It may well function fine, but would have a helluva long freebore and may lose some velocity and accuracy.

It is no worse than firing 38 Specials in a .357. It works fine

None, I used up 2 boxes 458 Win 500gr soft points through my first Lott to no ill effects.
They were kind of pleasant to shoot compared to the Lott ammunition....

What rifle is it?
The only issue that may occur is possible jamming when cycling a round from the magazine, but depends on rifle and projectile. Important consideration when shooting DG.
CZs (and even the old Brnos) were hit or miss in regards to feeding/jamming issues in 458WM. That's partly the reason that CZ USA convert the 458WM to 458Lott. The longer Lott case ramps into the chamber from the magazine at a lower angle - not much but makes the difference. The problem with the CZ 458 is when a round is fed from the LHS of the magazine - with a large RN projectile, it gets caught up in the extractor recess inside the action. (Actually, this can and does happen with other Mauser style rifles in this cartridge.)
I have a CZ550 in 458WM and use 400gn Woodleigh PP projectiles which feed okay 99% of the time. I'm not sure I would want to rely on it if I ever manage to go out DG hunting, although I can clear the problem quite quickly.

Whatever you said...everyone knows you are a lying jerk. That's a bold assertion. Point out where you think I lied. Well?
