We've been socked in with fog and low clouds all week, so the camera hasn't had much fun. We had small break in the clouds this morning while I was headed to town. I took a quick detour and checked a couple of nests.

The first is a great horned owl's nest. The nest they used last year blew down in October. They've relocated across the marsh to an old osprey's nest, that is high an not very accessible. This shot is through a 400mm lens.

This is a hard crop.

Another crop from a different angle.

The next stop was to check the eagle nestlings. I haven't seen these out of the nest yet, but some of the other nest have young eagles climbing around on limbs. These are close, but I don't think they have gotten out of the nest yet.
