I have an A5 stock that has a non adjustable comb that is just too low for the 50mm scope I have mounted. What options do I have besides glueing something on top of the comb. I need to raise it about 1/2 inch.

I've got these on both of my varmint rifles, a bit of a pain to install but works great and you can adjust the height. Puts my eye right where I need it and gives you a cushioned cheekpiece. $17 at sportsman's warehouse.

But if you do want a rifle purse, this is the one:

http://www.triadtactical.com/Triad-Stock-Pack.html

it comes with different shims so you can adjust the height of the comb. has the added benefit of making your rifle look instantly "tactical." silliness aside, it's a functional design.

I really like those Karsten cheek risers. Take you time installing it and get it deadnuts in the middle of the optical center of the scope (check the shadows).

And yes Triad makes good stuff. Be advised that one of those stock bags will really cause some fliers shooting off of a rear bag.

The benefit of these is being able to store 3 cough silencers and a butt out tool to keep your hunt from being ruined.

Here's a pic of the Triad Stock Pack. I really love this thing. It's like laying your head on your favorite pillow at the end of the day.

What GSSP said. Love mine, "purse" or not. Makes way too much sense for some.

Buy ten rifle purses they'll throw in a free ghillie suit and drag bag. I always thought carrying a rifle was far more efficient than dragging one.;)

I won't carry ammo in the cartridge loops anymore. After packing out elk quarters last October, I noticed several cartridges gone. I use one of the Federal plastic cartridge holders that comes with each box of shells to hold my ammo "in" the purse.

I have the Triad in tan on an XCR 2. Pouch currently holds drop and dope information. Plus the neoprene pad does make a great cheek rest. It's the only "purse" you'll ever see me with.

Have purses on several rifles. The pad is comfy. Inside the pouch, I keep a few rounds, a small light, 10' of 1/4" rope.

I like this one on my wood stocked rifles. It's big enough to carry car keys, 5 rounds of ammo, cell phone, 25' of parachute cord, small cleaning kit and a Snickers bar.

This is the one for serious hunts at least 100 yards from the truck. I can carry a full box of ammo, keys, cell phone, rope, knife, cleaning kit, rubber gloves, a bag of chips, toilet paper and 2 meatloaf sandwiches.

I'm working on making one with an aluminum frame so I can carry out a deer hind quarter on my butt stock.
