I'm building two rifles right now that I think I'm going to order McMillans to fit.
Both will be heavy barrel groundhog/target rifles. One a M700 and the other a Shilen DGA. I'm thinking something like Hunter BR or maybe a Light BR.
I want the stocks to be somewhat "bright" and colorful, and lightish colored rather than darker, no camo on these.
I'm thinking something along the lines of red/grape/white in a 40/40/20, and another in light blue/medium blue/white in 40/40/20 or so.
Thoughts? Pictures of anything done in close to these schemes?
Thanks!

60/40 light blue and white. I also had a stock that was 60/40 blue and white, and I like the look of light blue much more.

Here's another 50/50 Black and Red. If I recall correctly, McMillan uses the first listed color as the base color, which, even with evenly split percentages, will end up being a bit more predominant than the second listed color. I usually specify the darker color first, and have had good luck with that.

Not red....I hate red..... 60 burgundy... Yeah, I'm torn between red and burgundy myself, and keep going back and forth. OK, thoughts on burgundy/grape/white instead?

50/50 red/black Sporter I remember seeing that rifle before. While black instead of white (probably better on a hunting rifle ayway), I always liked it.

I've noticed that as well, and it's actually why I'm thinking of specifying the colors in the order that I did, to keep these stocks lighter/brighter this time.
