i am having my first custom build and need to come up with a Remington model 700 long acion stainless for the build. Can you buy just an action somewhere? Right now I am considering buying a new SPS for the action. I appreciate any help.

Theyre used to be a seller there, I cant remember their store name (Safari outdoors or something like that) they used to have actions all the time.

ok thanks i'll look I know Midway used to sell them but I guess they do not anymore I cannot find it anywhere on their website.

I got some paperwork from the website I told you about as I bought an action from them....I will see if I can find it and post a link.

but the pawn shops are also worth a look.

if you want a magnum stainless action look at the borden rifles web site their is one listed under for sale and it has been trued possibly by borden if so yhey would probably install a barrel for you also

Typically, it's easier to find an inexpensive complete rifle. Your wanting a stanless action definitely complicates the search. For my uses and needs, a cerakoted blued action is just as tough and rust resistant as a S/S action. And you can cerakote it to look like S/S if that's important to you.

I saw a LA magnum action somewhere. PM me if you're interested and I'll track it down. I think it was $350 or so if he'll sell it without the spare barrel he had.
