Just got my hands on it today and broke it in. Shot 168gr Bergers over 68gr of V560 into a itty-bitty patch of paper.

That looks like it should reach out there and touch something. Weight?
Looks like you might have a tough time fitting a pair of Butler Creeks on.

I bought that blank from Mike Rock with plans to build a leightweight 300WSM for myself. I had built MShuntfish a 6.5WSM that I liked too much so we ended up doing some swapping. He ended up with all the parts I was going to use.
That was only the 3rd carbon fiber barrel I had dealt with and the only one that I had to shorten, Nothing to it....except the dust. I turned the excess carbon fiber off using a vacume to catch the dust then threaded the end of the barrel. I then made a cap that matched the barrel contour for an end cap.
There is a smith north of me that does wrapping but I have not used his service or started doing it myself. I like the CFR barrels thus far. Built my 338-06 with one and it is a shooter. This 300 seems to be showing some promise.
