Fug, I have actually sat on the proverbial Needle In A Haystack a couple times. Do you have an idea of where the rifle might be? I'll keep an eye out in the MD, PA area, shops, shows etc. When was the last time it was seen? Good luck with the hunt, Joe.

I was going to tell him "I've got it", but I don't know if his heart could bear it!

I think he's looking for one of Jed's 1957 twins.

So, you think there might be three? That's possible.

Pretty sure Jed at one time said he lettered his and that the letter stated there were three with the same serial number, and that it wasn't a singular occurrence.

That would mean that there were two made in the same caliber. No law against it at the time, I guess.

That serial number is the one on both of Jed’s “Twins”. I don’t recall the letter stating there were 3 but I can’t remember. Who knows if Jed has them anymore? He was offering them, and I was interested in the .300 Savage, but at that time he wanted to sell them as a set along with the JC letter.

They are 3 different calibers same serial, as I understand it you can still do that. Savage made more than one set of 2 or triplets of guns that way.

I had a Ruger Black Hawk, Buckeye Special. It had two cylinders, one in 32-20 and one in 32 H&R mag. A couple years later they came out with a Buckeye Special in 45 ACP with a half moon clip and a 45 long Colt cylinder. They wound up with a series of several convertibles. If you were the original purchaser of the first series, the 32-20, you could get the rest of the series with the same serial number. This was in the early 80's, Joe.

Jed's 2 were .300 Savage and .250-3000 Savage

They are 3 different calibers same serial, as I understand it you can still do that. The 1968 Gun Control Act made unique serial numbers per manufacturer the law. So serials have to differ by a letter or number since then.
