what a great combination of craftsmen. Tim, of course, made the knife. It is probably my all time favorite custom blade. Doug made new clothes for it, and the knife and sheath came home to daddy in today's mail. You may recall that I designed the knife, with Tim's guidance. I designed this cross draw, up tilted sheath, and Doug just killed it. Damn I'm happy.

Sam Glad you are happy. Both designs are killer. I am going to do a sheath like that for myself, but not sure what knife to build it around. I should say I will have Doug do me a sheath like that. He is getting pretty good. We did a little head scratching in putting that one together. The sewing does have to follow a definite sequence.
Now just don't go laying your belly open with that quick draw system, Tim

That looks damn good...both the knife and the cool cross-draw sheath. I like the ruggedness of Tim's knives, and 757's sheaths are great too. That bottom shirt button looks kinda 'stressed'...could it be due to..."We had corn bread, Biscuits, banana bread, a wonderful wheat loaf, a perfect of King's Hawaiian bread, and cinnamon rolls."...?

Sam,
No wonder you are pleased with that knife..
Can you tell us a little about the materials, in particular the handle?
Regards,
Peter

For starters that is a dam good looking knife, it looks like dyed giraffe bone? That cross draw sheath is really nice, just curious on the extra squared off piece of leather at bottom is that necessary or could that be taken up to just a belt loop, just asking, sweet rig though.

Pete, the knife is S30V steel, the handle is Camel Bone. Blade length is 3 1/4 inches, or about 8.2 Cm. Over all length is 7 1/4 inches. I wanted a smallish knife, that would be suitable for every day carry, as well as for use as a small game knife or to take fresh water fishing. It does these things well, and is also darn good in the kitchen as a small paring or prep knife. INTHEMTNS, I am sure Doug could raise that up to hide behind the sheath. I don't mind it, because of the extra belt width it will accommodate. This was an entirely new design, and had to be fooled around with a little, to figure out how to actually turn my drawing and description into reality.

No problem, i like the idea, a cross draw feels nicer to pack around a bigger knife, thanks.

I like that knife and really like that sheath design. I think that little extra flap of material will help us bigger guys with the dunlop disease.

"...the extra squared off piece of leather at bottom is that necessary or could that be taken up to just a belt loop." The "tab" hanging down could certainly be reduced some. But, I think the little extra gives the sheath a little more "bearing surface" to hold it in place vertically. Guess you also have to keep in mind the variations in the surfaces it is bearing up to. See the pic above. The belt loop can be made to any size requested. Remember that the sheath is on and angle and the loop is vertical to the belt. Therefore if you want no tab showing on the bottom, the amount of loop showing on the top will be dependent on the belt opening size you are looking for. Just saying.... And (for Doug and I) thanks to all for the kind comments. Tim
