I saw a a vintage Buck Folding hunter knife in a antique store which had the 4 brass pins and a ss rocker pin (made in 1976) and purchased it. It wasn't until later when I looked at it more closely that I saw the blade won't stay locked. In fact, it has no real tension to keep it open. Does anyone know if that is an indication that a spring fell out or something? This is the first time I've ever seen such a thing happen with a vintage buck knife before.Too bad too because the blade is like knew. Looks like no one ever sharpened it.

I've been reading some other sites regarding this happening to buck folding hunters. And apparently it happens occasionally. The "lockback" gets broken. Sometimes by people hammering on them to split a sternum bone and such use. Thanks everyone, I'll be contacting the Buck warranty department. smile
