I'm familiar with the name but don't know much about them. Local shop has one in 44 mag. Are they good quality? Any known problems?

I've owned two Ubertis: a .44 percussion revolver that I bought in 1972 (and which I still have and shoot) and a gorgeous '73 Winchester reproduction in .44-40 that I regret selling. Uberti has been around a zillion years and has an excellent reputation. If memory serves, Uberti is now owed by Beretta.

I thought it was owned by beretta which gives me concern and not, Concern, because beretta customer service has a less than stellar reputation if there's a problem. Not, because they usually make good quality stuff. 2 sides of the same coin I guess. The one I looked at seemed good quality.

I understand your anxiety about Uberti's association with Beretta given, as you said, the latter's reputation for iffy customer service. All I can personally speak to is Uberti itself, however, and both of the ones I own/owned were top-notch. After posting my original post, I recalled, too, that a friend of mine had a Uberti '66 Yellow Boy in .38 special that he loved.

The are nice. The better end of the imports.
Regretfully, these days, that makes them better than most of the currrent US stuff.

I have been looking at an Uberti replica Colt Walker. It is very nicely made and finished.

Had a Uberti 66 yellow boy rifle in 45 Colt. Needed some cash and had to sell it, still regretting that sale!
