I have an SBL and it handles great. Had it for over a week, have not got to shoot it once and I have to sell it. Had something come up, unfortunately. I looked for this gun for months.

If you can find a pre 2009 model Marlin buy it. Remington quality control is crap and a lot of new guns have problems like poor fitting and extra dovetails cut in the barrels. Check out the Marlinowners group.

I bought a GBL about a year ago. It's a nice rifle. I did have to firelap the bore before it would shoot lead worth a darn though.

Those are aftermarket. XS ghost ring sights. Easy DIY install. The rear included two large apertures, I opted the smaller of the two.

Bought them at MidwayUSA for about $80.

The SBL is very similar, just stainless with gray laminate.

It looks like Micky's is one of the new Remington built ones with an extra dovetail in the barrel, due to them using left over North Haven produced 1895GS barrels. Marlin as it used to be is dead in my book.

Mine must be one of the late rifles built by the real Marlin. It has the JM proof on the portside of the barrel, and the barrel stamping says "The Marlin Firearms Co.mpany, Noth Haven CT. U.S.A."

i just walked in the door with a new Marlin ABL...looks like a GBL with the grey/black stock set. it's marked with the JM and North Haven CT, U.S.A. on the barrel. i was looking for a North Haven SBL, but those things are kinda hard to fine. missed one on GB the other day for somewhere north or $1100...

anyhoo, i'm new to the Marlins, so i better go do some research.
