Bought a new 2012 Ford Superduty SuperCrew F-250 King Ranch Diesel 4X4. It has the 6.7 Liter Diesel Engine & the 3.55 Rear Axle and 6 speed auto tranny.
I haven't owned a Diesel since I sold my old Ford 2002 F-350 4X4. It was a great truck & I really regretted trading it in for the little F-150 King Ranch 4X4 SuperCrew. The 7.3 Liter Diesel was a hoss & got great fuel mileage!
Anyhow, I haven't kept up with Fords Diesel engines in a while, and was wondering what kind of Fuel Mileage others here on the Campfire are getting in new Ford Diesels like the one I just bought? The on board fuel computer shows I was getting 19 MPG on the way home from the Ford Dealership. That's about 60 miles from there to the ranch.
BTW, I noticed right away that it Definately has a lot more get up & go than my old 7.3 Liter Diesel ! 400 horses & 800 lbs of Torqe! It will damn sure set you back in the seat when you kick it in to passing gear! Haven't towed any thing yet, but it feels like it ought to tow anything you hook it up to!
Any fuel mileage, towing experience, or general comments from fellow Ford owners with the same 2012 model would be greatly appreciated. Also, any problems, ect or fuel filter issues/changes, or anything else I need to know about it ? Thanks for the input if y'all have time.

The DPF alone is robbing you of 2-3 mpg. Need to hand calc mpg. Its a crap shoot if the DIC mpg is accuarate.

I have a 2011 F350 XL 4x4 6.7 We`ve been getting 19 mpg with mixed driving,up to 23 mpg highway driving 65-70 mph. You`ll find you get about 1 mpg less with hand calculations. I don`t think I ever got better than 17 mpg on my 04 F150 with the 4.6 V8. We`ve gotten 12-13 mpg pulling a 10,000 lb 5th wheel toy hauler. I`m hoping the mpg will improve a little more as I only have 8,500 miles on it. For the 10.000 mile service I`m going to stick with the OEM fuel and oil filters and Rotella T6 synthetic oil. I can`t believe the torque, definately puts a smile on your face!! We`re pulling the 5th wheel to Florida end of Jan., anxious to see what it does mpg wise going down 95. Good luck with yours.
