After another frustrating year of not drawing any tags in New Mexico, I picked up another late season cow tag for me and my son again this year. Awesome time and some really cold temps. My elk- about 125 yards steep uphill shot. The elk was quartering away... The GAP was awesome to carry and shoot with the 155gr. Scenar making a very quick kill with a nice sized exit hole. My son made a great shot on his cow at also about 125 yards, dropped her on the spot using his 708 With 140gr Accubonds. No recovery as the bullet exited. Enjoyed spending a few hours today shooting at the Whittington Center and headed home tomorrow. Hope everyone has a Happy New Year!

Congrat's and thanks for sharing your hunt.

While I'm at it, how do you like the Kuiu jacket? I have a DCS guide jacket on the way along with the Merino 230 Zip-T.

I also have the 185 and 230 Zip-T on underneath it (thanks to Christmas presents!), I like them, but I think I like Smartwool or Minus 33 a little better. JMO I can say the Attack pants are the best hunting clothing purchase I have ever made.

Thanks. I also have a Cabela's Switzer Primaloft jacket that is seriously warm. I'm thinking that my current thin merino wool, the 230 Zip-T, Primaloft and then the DCS ought to keep me warm. Strong praise for the attack pant. I may have to look into that as well.
