Getting rifle zeroed in for the season. I head to ntc for a month in Aug-Sept so I better get It done sooner than later. Going to use my l/h model 70 in a 270 Winchester figure 58.0gr of h4831 w/ 150gr hornady spfb should work just fine for elk. Might load up some 140gr hornady btsp as well.

Good luck buddy!! I was just thinking to myself earlier that my "elk rifle" is the one that's always ready to go at a moments notice. It's got to be one of my most trusted weapons. I, however, rarely practice with it, but I know it will still get the job done.

My first NTC rotation was July. Brutally hot. Next three were Feb, Mar, Apr and got snowed on during each of them.

Well got out this past weekend tested two loads one was
150gr Hornady SP
57.5 gr H4831sc
CCI 200
It shot very well putting three all touching the 4th just out and the 5th shot I screwed it all up and threw it bad.. The next load was
140gr Hornady BTSP
58.5 gr H4831sc
cci 200
This load has always shot extremely well in this rifle and it shot extremely well in again. So will probably go with the 140's.
