Can a 8x58R be re-chambered to something a non-reloader can use? (not modern pressure, etc., but store bought, Buffalo Arms, etc.) Would love to give an old rifle a new lease on life during primitive weapons deer season.

There is/was a gunshop called Bonetree that specialized in Remington Rolling Block rifles, I believe they are in Montana or somewhere out west.

You can reload those yourself. Norma has made the ammunition, and Bertram makes brass. It's also possible to make brass for it , from 7.62x54. it comes out a tad short but it works. Other option is to just have it rebarreled,so that'll add another 600$ to the cost , then you'll need different forearm wood, and sights.
the most expensive bullet there is isn't worth a plug nickel if it don't go where its supposed to. www.historicshooting.com

No, It cannot be rechambered for any safe factory round. The rifle is from the blackpowder era, reconfigured for the 8mmx58R. It is marginally safe for that round if loaded with light loads of smokeless. The best use of these old rifles if you want to shoot them is to rebarrel to a blackpowder round. They can safely handle any blackpowder load. They are marginal to unsafe with any smokeless load, even if it's blackpowder equivalent velocity, unless it's held to below 28,000 psi in a smaller round such as .25-20, .32-20, etc. Because of the reheat treat that these rifles were subject to, their frame is brittle and can fracture with an overload.
