Stopped by garage sale today and found a custom rod with Slate blank (IMX) complete with Phlueger (SP?) supreme reel and Tenn grip, along with not one but two Loomis 661's GL3 with presidents. Had to cough up $15 a combo. Same sale last year netted 3 Chronarch, 2 Curado and 1 stradic.

This may sound crazy but I wanted to get a really nice ultralight rod. I said, "Lord, you know there are great deals out there let me get one." I pulled in to one of the garage sales and there is a Fenwick 1-3 pound rod! It had a bent wire type guide but there was no price on it. I said, "This rod has a bent guide. What are you asking for it?"
"How 'bout a buck since it's bent?"
"Sold!" I told him.
I don't think I ever saw a good reel in a sale so I purchased a new one from Sportsman and installed two pound test. Perfect set up for the stockers.
