Yes, Ron had a pic of his self with a big buck in a canoe, I think it was on the over of Trad. Bowhunter mag. I have it here some where, had Ron sign it for me in his shop, a long time ago! Ron wore wool, buckskins, and fur hats! He dressed and hunted the Old way!

340+ responses about the passing of Ron LaClair on Stickbow Leatherwall II, only 6 on the 24hrcampfire. That will tell you where the trad shooters hang out.

Check.out Stickbow Leatherwall II, and put in a search for his name. He made some great contributions to many threads.

In case readers don't know Ron was the 1981 world longbow champion, and a great ambassador to trad shooting overall.

Yep, i got that sad call one night too, my old buddy Bill Bagwell and Ron used to shoot long bows at 20 yard eggs, they'd shoot for cheeseburgers LOL, both guys are now gone, RIP Ron, and many Thanks for setting me up with your bud that made the cedar shaft arrows for my bow, and all the trad shooting help and time you spent on the phone with me, Godspeed Sir.

I only knew Ron from the Leatherwall but a more gracious guy you couldn't find. He lived a great life and went out doing what he loved, and at his little cabin on the lake.

I really admired him. Congrats on a great life.

He was a Great dude! I just got done reading the posts on his death on the leather wall Trad. Site, stated that Ron was laid out in a pine box a friend made with leather hinges, he was dressed in buckskins & Wool, a long bow and flint lock by his side, his wife's ash's were in his possible bag, that hung from his shoulder, I liked his style! RIP Ron!
