Mine is the Trophy Ridge Micro Revolution Full-Capture Fall Away Arrow Rest.

We have come a long way since Whisker Biscuits and useless crap like that!

Qad here!
I've been using the Firenock arrow rest for 5 or 6 years. Works well.

I reviewed both the Ripcord Code Red X and the QAD Systems, both look great to me.

We have a lot of great options these day, compared to when I started bowhunting and that's a great thing!
Drop away
Used Trophy Takers for years but quality really went to crap here in the last few years. Have switched to Hamskea now. Far and away the top choice of my local pro shop.
I currently use the vapor trail drop away rest. No reason not to use a drop away I say. I don't particularly think any one is better than the other, I just happen to like the look of the vapor trail
Whisker, what’s there to break. I had a QAD HDX crap out on me. If I’m hunting I don’t want to have to wonder if my rest will work. The whisker is simple and easy. Easier to replace as well.

That said, I am a big believer in hamskea as well. But a hamskea doesn’t look or feel right on a light tree stand and stalking bow (Mathews heli-m, SQ2). I have one (trinity) on my halon 32 set up for long range shooting where I need all the help I can get.
Drop away here. I have used Trophy Taker, QAD and Trophy Ridge. On 2 of my 3 bows I'm running basic QAD hunters with great success. The other bow has IMS so I put the trophy Ridge Propel with IMS on it and have been pleased thus far. Never even considered a Whisker...just never cared for the design or the lack of ability to run as much helical on my fletching as I wanted to.
Another QAD here.
A piece of matchstick under a strip of leather glued to the shelf. It’s held up amazingly well on my 35 year old Black Widow TD….

alpinecrick, post a pic of your "A piece of matchstick under a strip of leather glued to the shelf" if you can.

I have a couple of Black Widow Bows I might want to try that with

Nice Bows!

I remember in the early 70s my father took me to see a Fred Bear bow-hunting movie at a cinema. I believe Fred was using a bow very similar to yours, maybe even the very same kind?

This is the Polar Bear segment of that movie.

QAD for me been using them for years

Pretty cool old film clip.
Thanks for sharing.

I never seen an 8 HP. snow machine before. Looks like they got the job done.
While I've always used a Whisker Biscuit, I just changed to a QAD LD yesterday. In the process of paper tuning now. Jury is still out. I share Ruddy's point of the WB having nothing to break, but willing to see if the extra FPS and lack of vane contact helps my long game.

You will like it RayF, less drag ='s more speed + improved accuracy!
I lucked out. Having measured the lay of the arrow in the whisker biscuit and using a bow square, it only shifted my group a little more than 2” to the right at 20yds.

I picked up 4.2fps. I bet I’d get a couple more if I remove the useless limbsavers.

Hi RayF, I am surprised you only picked up 4.2fps.

How do you like it?

So far, so good. I don’t miss the whisker biscuit.
Hamskea. A guy I worked with in the AF ran a bow shop/string making business out of his garage and was extremely knowledgable. His family used to work for Bear archery and he said he ate many lunches with Fred himself.

Great rest, easy to tune and great quality. Nope, they are not in every Walmart, but I believe they are becoming more well known.
Huge fan of the RipCord Code Red.

Trimmed Beaver on the shelf.
I am currently using the QAD HDX rest and really like it. I had used the standard QAD drop away rest in the past and had some issues with random poor arrow flight. I have since learned that the standard QAD has known issues with the rest not dropping or bouncing back up.
Hamskea. Pretty much foolproof once you get them dialed in. I like the QAD but I had one break after 4 years, not the least expensive one. May have been a fluke but if you let me down during or right before hunting season, I change it.
