Anybody using the 125 gr Ramcats for deer? I've been shooting 100 gr Rage 2-blades but today I threw on some 125 gr field points to try and really liked the way the heavier points shot. A local shop stocks the 125 gr Ramcats and thinking about making the switch.

Haven't shot them, still waiting to get a SlickTrick on a deer this year. How hard are the replacement blades to find?

I don't know about replacement blades. The place I bought them at is going out of business so I bought several packs of replacement blades along with the heads today. I usually don't shoot more than one deer a year with a bow so there's enough blades to last for quite a few years.

As I was looking at them today, the blades are quite thin towards the tips and I suspect they'd get beat up going through an animal. On the other hand, I'd guess that's a factor in why they fly and penetrate well. All the mass is at the center of the BH like a field point with just the light skinny little blades sticking out. Hopefully I'll get a chance to put one through a deer here in the next few weeks.

My buddy shot a buck last year with one and it was devastating. Flew great and hit hard. The buck went about 30 yards. The blades were messed up and had to be replaced but it did the job.

Only reason I mention replacement blades, I bought the Sanford Bloodshots when they came out based on the local archery shop recommendation. The broadheads and replacement blades dried up for about 3-4 months towards the end of the season. Ended up having to buy more complete heads at inflated rates to keep shooting them.

That's a good point. Nobody else around where I live stocks Ramcats that I know of so in the future I'll have to order them if I need more. I'm a tinkerer by nature though and always like to try something different. Almost every gun I own is chambered for a wildcat so I'm good at making simple things complicated.
