I have read alot about this process recently. My shop says its a bunch of b.s. I bought 1/2 dozen Carnivore 350 spine indexed and squared at both ends. They shoot simply awesome.
Do any of you guys spine index and whats your honest opinion?

Based on my results, which mirrors yours, it makes a noticeable difference, in both bare shafts and overall groups. Its NOT b.s.

I don't think it's BS either. I buy my Gold Tip Pro Hunters from South Shore Archery and they are cut and squared at both ends and spine indexed. These shoot noticeably better than the same arrows from the local "pro shop." The local shop does none of that stuff.

Jerry at South Shore is THE source for shafts/arrows as far as I'm concerned.

Was shooting some more today. Same results!
Thanks for the feedback.

Ok teach an old guy something new wtf is spine indexing?
Spine indexing allows you to locate and mark the stiff side of each arrow. It allows them all to then be indexed the same way. It makes your groups even more consistent because every arrow flexes the same when it leaves the bow. Eliminates the need to nock tune your arrows. We spine index everything as well. Learned most all of what I know from Jerry Ratliff. Enjoy his work while you can. He is looking to retire.

You need a better shop guy,

I guess the rocket scientist thinks weight matching is a waste of time too.

IMO spine indexing will serve you better than paying for .001 straightness over .003. Your results may differ, but that is what I have found.

Do you need a special device to spine index shafts?

NEVER MIND JUST WATCHED A YOU TUBE VIDEO ON IT.

Sold my spine indexed Carnivores. Just a little too light.368 gr
Selling my bloodlines that are not indexed. Just a little too heavy. 412 gr.

Ordered half dozen Easton Flatline DOA indexed and squared at both ends. No wraps just blazer vanes. These should come out between 385 and 395 gr. Hoping they are perfect.
Black Eagle Zombie Slayer would have been perfect

I looked at those, I think they are 8.5 gpi and I hate all that b.s. on the arrows.
The flatline are 8.2. If they aren't what I am looking for I will sell them and try something else!! LOL!
