I have never done it before but I think I am going to dedicate this season to bow only. Anyone else playing?
For over 40 years. As a matter of fact I am leaving for Colorado on Wednesday to chase some Wapiti. Plan on staying the entire month as I have for the past 21 years. I don't call it playing though, it's R&R. Tom
I'm 99% bow only unless invited to hunt during a firearm season someplace.

I'm pig hunting in Nor cal next week for a few days. My buddy works on a ranch and says the drought conditions and fires have moved the pigs around quite a bit and they should be much more concentrated near his water holes and creeks for archery hunting.
I have "only bow" hunted for the last 5 years. This year will be the same...mature whitetail bucks in Kansas.
I'm a gun nut, but went bow only a few years ago. I may make take a rifle out a couple of times if it's too cold or rainy. I made the transition after I realized that all of the challenge was gone (for me).
I have a rifle tag for east of CO Springs for deer, but if I can't find some land to hunt on I might be stuck going bow only for elk.

If that were to happen I wouldn't be upset, haven't been able to hunt since 2011 so archery elk only is fine with me
I love gun hunting, but around here, many of the lands I hunt are true suburban hunting. I'm hunting 10 feet from the landowner's garage in some instances. Being that she owns the garage and land, and she allows me to hunt there, I'm well within the law for a bow...but gun is out.

I can hunt the pumpkin patch of State Game Lands around here with gun if I'd like...but I would much rather use a stick and string.
I have been going more bow every year. Wont ever give up the gun. I like bow more .

Couldn't if I tried. Just love hunting with too many other firearms, including pistol, rifle, muzzleloader and shotgun. But the majority of my time in the field will be with archery equipment.
Pretty sure that's how it will shake out. I have to remove a few more from the neighborhood. Not really hunting though. Dumb deer, short range, lots of time. Just killing. Just using a bow because it's quiet and the state says I am old enough to use a crossbow now.

I suppose if it get's to be December and I haven't thinned them out enough 1 or 2 might get introduced to the muzzle loader.
Now only for me in Mn I will take a deer with rifle in Ks if I don't arrow one.
When my state made crossbows ok for deer I took the course and got one.

I even got a styrofoam cube target to catch the bolts when I practice with it in the basement.

I mostly bow hunt, but don't want to limit myself if I am not successful during archery seasons.
I bow hunt during bow season (obviously) and during muzzleloader season. I have muzzleloaders but I find them to be a huge annoyance so my bow season is extended by three weeks. I would never give up centerfire rifles. wink
I can't bring myself to do it. I may do bow and muzzleloader some day, but I go nuts if a nice buck walks around 5 yards outside of my comfort zone. I have trouble enough with it during bow season!
