Is there a way to test limb strength? Other than shooting across a chrony?

Retackle?

Bin the idea?
Ha a Bear whitetail was my 1st bow ever....man things have come a long way
BTW I'd start with a new string and cable and shoot it...that's if you have your heart set on using it rather than something newer and much more efficient.
Think Model T vs turbo charged Benz
IIRC the WT2 was plastic cam, steel cable and of metal grip. They were of decent speed for the time.
Not sure what cable terminations they had (swedge).
New cable job if needed.........proly 50 bucks or more.
Dunno if one could FF convert one.

Most folks buy these older types of bows for bowfishing, typically $50 in good shape. You run it til it gets beat to heck, blows up or gets lost over the side of the boat.

They may lack some smoothness, speed and could be noisy.........but it's still an over 200 FPS rig.

And I kill deer with stuff that's slower than that.

So if you want a project, or have some sentimental value associated with the rig.......certainly worth a resto and then go out and use it.

You might be paying more for the experience than what the bow itself will be worth when done though.

Can't always put a price on learning, or fun.

It's a Bear, but nothing collectible.
I can remember when the neighbor shot a WTII and it was state of the art technology. It just seems unbelievable that all those wheels and cables could possibly sling an arrow.
My dad still has one that's not had 20 arrows shot across is. Bought it, hurt his elbow, and put it up. Still just sitting there.
That was my first bow, I just got rid of it last year.
