He has two young boys and doesn't get to hunt much... so in the first 2.5 hrs of the first time hunting this season he harvests this really nice, mature, heavy bodied buck from one of my favorite hanging stands....Congrats to him big time... but I'm smiling as well(I'm the OLDER guy on the right :)).

Good for you.
Great buck! I bet he's a happy hunter.
He sure is...Biggest buck he has ever taken...and I almost smoked one later that day in a different location right before sundown but just could not get the right site picture with the tiny corrective peep I have on my string...Not as grand as the earlier buck but a shooter for sure....seasons early smile
Congrats! Now your a hero to him for the rest of his life. Your kind gesture will be told for years by him and his family. Although gratifying as it is, it sucks when someone else kills the deer you've been hunting. May you be blessed to kill a bigger one.
Nice!
It's all good...I'm confident I will cross paths with a "Keeper" before long and it will end badly for him...I hope smile !!!
Good deal!
That is very cool. Congrats to him.
How much are you charging for guiding next yr?
Slots available?

wink
I get a kick out of setting folks up like that. Almost better than a huge one myself!

Good on ya!

Congrats to your buddy!
^^ I have to agree,I as well get enjoyment out of putting someone on a deer(or any critter).
Good on you for helping out a friend.
Thanks guys....Not a guide hookeye ( not nearly that good) smile and no charge for my pals:)...half the fun is getting the spots, figuring out how to set up properly and believe it or not I enjoy reading terrain/ picking out trees/ hanging stands /climbing sticks/ clearing shooting lanes etc....this afternoon I used my lone wolf climber on a new piece and had a non typical 9 pt right under me (no shooter), a seven pass by at under 15 yds and 2 smaller bucks sparing in the distance...Takes me awhile sometimes to get the hang of a new place...I think I have this one figured out for next time....and I know there is a POPE who frequents this spot(might save this one for me).
By the way that buck from yesterday dressed out at 168lbs
Nice buck East Quogue. wink
Thanks Sqweeler !
