I want to build some high FOC arrows. I shoot 29” - 70lbs in a Bowtech 82nd Airborne. Right now I shoot Easton Axis for a finished weight of about 420gr with a 100gr head attached. What suggestions do you guys have to bring my FOC up closer to 15%? Would you go with Axis’s again or try something else?
Give the Black Eagle X Impact a serious look. 42 grain outsert and great spine to weight ratio.
Heavier head or brass insert. May have to go up in arrow spine (or shorten existing) depending on how much you add.
My preferred arrow build is a bit more than what you're looking for.
GT hunter xt 300
100 gr brass insert
125 gr head
4x 75/105 gateway rayzr feathers
Cut 28" carbon to carbon.
20 % foc, 510-ish total arrow weight, stabilizes right now out of the bow, and tunes so very nicely. Yes, it's over spined for my 63 pound Anarchy SC, but that bow loves a heavy stiff arrow.
