Anybody have any thoughts on these Targus Gary Borger Pro Series rods? I'm not familiar with them. All of my stuff is by Orvis. I'm looking at a 4 piece 9 foot 9 weight for saltwater. I can get one for just over $100. Any feedback would be helpful. Thanks!

if $$ are a big issue i'd go with the Orvis large arbor B-Kill or the SA System 2-- both of these have a more reliable drag system and not for a whole lot more $$. Moving up in $$ the Ross Saltwater series is very good.
I'm not convinced on the hype of the borger reels. Salt means corrosion and very strong fish which require a very dependable drag. The Borger doesn't have it. Then again, just my two cents.
I gave it some more thought and decided against it. I hadn't considered the reel I'd put on it yet, but the deciding factor was just the number of times I anticipated using it. I haven't taken on saltwater fly fishing yet and I don't stream fish enough as it is. I think I'll take some more time to consider what I want and avoid picking up a setup I'll later regret. I have a large arbor Battenkill on my 6wt. Trident and I like it a lot. Very smooth and fast line pickup. Thanks for the feedback.
