I picked up a pound of this powder a while back, and have been mulling over trying it in a 243. This powder is similar in burn rate to H4831, which would leave me to believe that it would be okay in the heavier bullets in a 243, but all the data I've found is for the lighter weight bullets. Just curious if anyone here has experience with Superformance in a 243?
It is great in my 30" 25-06. Yields 4000 fps with 80 gr Barnes and shoots sub moa.
Never owned a 243 but I also picked up a pound a while back thinking about my 300 WSM. Lo and behold, the label has data for the 22-250, the 243 and the 300 WSM. So I assume it's a good choice for those chamberings (?). Haven't even got around to trying it yet.
I have some as well. I haven’t used it yet but it looks like it would be better with white bullets instead of heavy bullets.
Following... I've got a pound too and have been wondering what to use it in.
Quite a few of my 30-06's shoot it quite well with 165 gr and 180 grain bullets...mb
I get 2,750 with 180 Partitions over 58.5 grains in WW cases with WLR primers. Rifle is a Browning A-Bolt with a 22" barrel. Groups are outstanding.
My Vanguard .30-06 with a 24” barrel spits out 180 gr Partitions and Sierra SPT flat base at 2850 in front of 59.5 grains of Superformance with excellent accuracy. I’ve got a .243 bolt gun on the way, so ‘fess up, boys. What works with 100 gr Sierras and 95 gr Nosler BTs?
I use it in my .243 with 80gr TTSX.
I also use it in the 243 with the 85 Gr. TSX. 42 gr in Lapua brass and WLR primer. Shoots three shots around 1moa in the Kimber Montana.
I bought a can several years ago and still have not decide what to use it for. Maybe some 85 grain Sierra BTHP's out of a 243.
I use it in my .243 with 80gr TTSX.
…and Larry has them in stock! Thx.
