Hello,

I bought some 338, 185gr bonded core (no name) bullets from Midway last year. Does anyone have any load data for 338-06 they can share using W760 or BL-C(2)?

Thanks

I've shot mine up since I bought them, but I used Hornady 185gr GMX data for mine and experienced no issues. I used Win748 and A2520

The midway 2nds you are referring to are actually Federal Fusions originally loaded in 338Fed MSR ammo.

I cannot help you with loading on the -06 version. I load them in my 338Fed. If you want to sell them, let me know. I also have 100ct 200grNosler Accubonds I would trade.

When they went on sale, I bought 500, enough for 338-06 and 338 Fed until I can't hunt anymore.

Hodgdon load center has a couple recipes for 185’s and BL-C(2). While not for your exact bullet, a good starting place.

I don't mind reducing a few grains when going from cup/core to cup/core bullet reloading data. I don't like to go from copper to cup/core bullet reloading data. The 185s are copper bullets. I am thinking about using the 180 NBT and use starting loads.

Something seems off, way off. Are you seriously getting 98 grains of H4831 into a 338-06 case for a fps of 3030 with a 200gr BT?!
Posted By: TJAY Re: 338-06 loads - 02/19/23
.338 A-Square is not a 338-06.

There is a 338-06, 338-06 A-Square and a 338A-Square. The OP is asking about 338-06 load data. It is f’n stupid to post 338 A-square (a big magnum) data for someone looking for 338-06 data. The nomenclature is easily confused and could cause someone to get hurt. Like I said, just stupid!

From Hodgdon website

BL-C(2)
55.0 gr for 2,824fps
to
59.0gr for 2,943fps

For a 185gr Barnes TSX, the Federal will probably generate higher pressure?
So I would start low and work up.
