Was playing with some loads for my new 7-08. Hope is for a good deer load using 120Grn TTSX. Varget has given me some very nice groups but best accuracy has been from the lower end of the charge weights. I remembered I had a pound of BL-C(2) and it is listed on the barnes load data so I gave it a shot and put together some loads for the range. I had one load (46.5grns) gave me .875" group with 3,125 FPS according to the Garmin. It was a compressed load but I had no pressure issues. Will load more and check for repeatability with this load.

I have not heard or seen much on this forum about BL-C(2). I was just curious if others are using this powder and what kind of results they are getting.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Not too many years past, the benchrest boys burned tons of BLC-2...but with that bunch, they constantly evolve to the next thing, as they should, when the winner can be determined by a thousandths of an inch. A long winded way of saying BLC-2 is proven capable of great accuracy in the .308 family. The juggling of primers can make a huge difference in any double base powder, though.

Sometimes Old School is the Best School! I have had great results running BL-C(2) or its milsurp cousin WC-846, with mid-weight bullets in .30-06. I’ll give it a go in my 7mm-08 with 130gr Speer SPT. Good suggestion….

I use it in my 204 Ruger. With a 32 grain Hornady V-Max, it's accurate and pretty darn quick.
