Having just acquired a cherry Ruger .280, I need some load data using RL 23 and heavier bullets 150 to 162 grain. Plenty of data on RL22 but not so much on RL23. Thanks in advance.

Since RL 26 is a rare earth element I am focused on RL 23.
RL23 is just a tad slower than 22 drop back a little from the 22 data and work up just like any other cartridge and you will be fine. 23 is a good powder if it works out very stable and better velocity in everything I've tried it in vrs 22.
I just use RL 22 data when using RL 23. Back off a grain or so of max RL 22 data, and it seems good to go..
Sure has been accurate in my rifles fitting my needs of it.
Many thanks!
My load 150 NBT 210M Rem case 57.5 gr RL23 AVG 2940 fps

Start low and work up

Thank you. Gonna have to give that a try.
As stated, back off from RL22 data. I was able to get 3175-3200 fps with RL23 and a 140 NBT. Don’t quote me on this, it has been a couple of years ago, but I think I ran out of case capacity with RL23 before I ran into high pressure signs.

***EDIT***
To clarify, the above is in reference to a 280AI.

Wow! Glad you redacted that. I get 3200 with my AI’s. I thunk 3200 in a 280 Rem was “a bridge too far.”
