I bought a cheapo lee press to take to the range with me for making test loads.

The darn thing won't take a RCBS shell holder, a redding will work but not the RCBS - what the heck.

You can buy a complete set of 11 Lee universal shell holders from Midway for $15.99 plus shipping. They have a shell holder to fit everything that I have in the gun safe, including things like 9.3x74...
I don't have any problems with my Challenger, why did you buy the cheapest one, you a skinflint. I use Redding, Lee and RCBS shell holders with no problems at all. If your talking about the handpress, it isn't anything a file won't fix. Les

My bench presses are a Rock chucker supreme and dillon xl650.. topped with a Giruad case trimmer will all the extras.

I bought the challenger press for the range, and like I said the dumb RCB shell holders don't fit.

Go with the redding ones then, I haven't had any problems with the RCBS shell holders, but did with my o ring, I filed them till they fit. Les
I am certain the RCBS shell holder will fit. The retaining spring in the Lee presses is pretty tight when new. The first time you insert any manufacturers shell holder in a Lee press it be a very tight fit. I have used several brand new Lee hand presses and they all were a tight fir for shell holders the first three or four times I inserted them. On one hand press I used pliers to gently squeeze the shell holder into the ram and then to remove it. Just a firm squeeze both directions. After that the shell holders insert and remove just as expected. I use several of the hand presses and I am pleased with them.
Call Lee.
i have 2 lee presses and all of my rcbs shell holders fit just fine.
I upgraded to redding shell holders now.

Given I just bought the competition shell holders it followeed logically to get redding regular shell holders.

I was curious, and went out to the shed and dug out the old Lee press. All my RCBS shell holders fit ok.
The RCBS ones worded fine for me in a couple of Lee presses. Someone said use the shellholder of the same brand as the die. I have never worried about it,or even cared.
