Holy Cow!

Do you know if this will impact the availability of IMR numbers? In some cartridges I find IMR powders to be more accurate than the Hodgdon counterparts.
I emailed Hodgdon from their website asking abour their plans for the IMR powders. Here is their reply: "We plan to leave the IMR product line intact." Jim

I find it the other way around, and the Hodgdon Extreme variants are not temperature sensitive as are the IMR powders. I hope Hodgdon makes the IMR line non-temp sensitive as well.

Trying to get the last few grains of powder out of those IMR cans is a pain too. Maybe Hodgdon can repackage the IMR line?
I like it that my Hodgdon powder bottles attach directly to my powder measure.............

As much as I like Hodgdon powders, there are some times when I need a powder burn rate in between say H4350 and H4831. That would be IMR 4831, jus at IMR 4350 is between varget and H4350--another speed I could use. "Extreme" blend--just a coating, I think--would be a very welcome addition to my powder magazine........................

SHAWNEE MISSION, KS. - Hodgdon Powder Company announces the asset purchase of IMR Powder Company Inc.

IMR has been the mainstay of numerous handloaders for many years. The IMR brand product names remain and are now supplied by Hodgdon. IMR is manufactured in the same plant with exacting performance criteria and quality assurance standards that Hodgdon users have come to expect, said Tom Shepherd, President of Hodgdon.

Hodgdon has no plans to consolidate the lines from either company. We feel that they both have unique (excuse the wording) features and advantages. We will continue to supply the IMR products unchanged from their current manufacturing plant. We look forward to doing more aggressive marketing and updating some of the IMR data etc. We hope that you will continue to use our products and appreciate the business that you have given us in the past.

We are currently out of printed IMR data manuals. In the mean time you can get the data at the following link: http://www.improvedmodernrifle.com/safe.html
It would be nice to see Hodgdon update the IMR data. I've long noted that IMR's data is often on the wimpish side...

Trying to get the last few grains of powder out of those IMR cans is a pain too AMEN to that!! I'll bet I've lost a pound of various IMR powders over the years by losing them as I was trying to shake those last few grains out of there and into the funnel on top of the measure <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />
