Looking for a load in 7mm Rem. Mag....I have IMR 4831 and IMR 7828.....And for bullets i have Nosler Ballistic Tips in 150 Gr. And Hornady A-Max in 162 Gr. Anybody have a good load with those combinations?

Boattail: With those bullet weights I would personally reach for the 7828 first.Because 7RM's can vary a good deal in throats, barrels etc,I would suggest you start with published minimums for the bullet and work up,watching the chrongraph and pressures as you proceed.Once I hit about 3000 fps with the 162 gr bullet,I would call it good.

I use IMR 7828 with the 160gr. Accubond but my 7mag likes RL-22 better with the 162gr A-max.
You should be able to get 3000FPS with IMR-7828 and the 160gr A-max.

Also, get yourself a Nosler Reloading manual. They will list the most accurate charge with a particular bullet weight for every powder listed and the most accurate powder they tried. It has amazed me at how many times my "most accurate load" was within 1.0g of their's.

I've had the best results by using 4831 for bullets of 150 grns. or less, and 7828 for the 160-175's.

in my model70 i was using 65gr of imr 7828 and a hornady case cci 250 mag primer and the 162gr hornady interlock start lower and work up should see good groups about 64 to 65 gr of powder

Another for 7828.

I use 60 gr 4831 154 gr hornady sst and have had great luck. Has worked on whitetails in Minnesota to muleys in Montana and Wyoming. Hope it helps and good luck.

I got a buddy who swears by 7828 for accuracy in his 7mm mag.......

I'd try 7828 first with both bullets. Next, I'd go buy some Re 22, work up to 65.0 grains with the 160. Live happily ever after.
