I am going to bring out my 264 Winchester and have been using a hot dose of H1000 with the 130`s. I now have available N170 and N570 and thought I`d see if anyone is using this powder. I been using N560 in a wildcat off the 300 WM necked to 7mm and it is working great. I figure the N560 is to fast for the 264. I also have Norma MRP II
I think your H1000 is a very good choice. The double base N570 could give you more velocity, but it also could cost you a little extra barrel life. The N570 is likely to be more temperature sensitive, so don't work up to max in cold weather and then shoot it in hot. The N560 is probably not too fast and about equal to the old standby for the .264 -- H4831. See burn rate chart below. I believe they have misplaced the H1000. It should be in the Hodgdon column.

I certainly do like that Accubond bullet! I now use it in my .264/06 and I am well pleased with the velocity and it shoots sub-MOA groups. I have also had great satisfaction using the Hornady 129 grain SST bullet at 3000fps.
I tried 7828, N165, H1000, Magnum, 780 and Retumbo most recently. Ended up landing on Magnum with the least vertical stringing in my ladder tests with 130 Accubonds.
At 190 yards on this buck, it appeared to work:

Very well placed shot sir!! I`m just gonna wait till after season, its really to late for me to try anything soon. I do believe looking at Rons chart that MRP II may get a shot. Thanks for the replies.
I think MRP II is a different lot of RL-25.

One of the powders I tried with my 264 was N-560. In Europe, the 264 is lightly loaded pressure wise,so the VihtVouri data has N-560 maxing at 2900.Well, Lymans has some healthy charges of RL-22 for the 264. I found N-560 and RL-22 match up grain for grain in a 338WM,so me and my trusty chrony went exploring. Guess what, the velocity remained the same even with more charge at 2950.

Both Magpro and Magnum worked for me,Magnum the better of the two. When I got a 1/2" group at 100m at 3150 with my 24" barrel, I knew I struck gold.
Why sweat loads? Why not just trade me that .264 for the 280AI you have sitting up there? Love my 280AI but that 264WM may be the thing that prys me away from it. grin
