Picked up my LE propellant today and have 4 different 30-30's to try it with. I will load the 170 grain Sierra flatnose round. I'll post the results later.
Anybody tried it yet?

Shouldn't this stuff be pretty good with 308 casings and lighter bullets too?? Is there any data out there or has anyone tried it? I'd love to see the 130 ttsx and the 308 get "hoppin". I guess that bullet fed single style in a 30-30 could be pretty fun too?
The load data is on hodgdon's website and is cartridge specific. At this they only want you to use it in cartridges they have tested for.

Just playing around with some of the 30-30 loads in quickload it appears to have a burn rate close to re17. (although I think it's a ball powder?).
Anyhow if you could get alot of it in a case and it is indeed a dense ball powder with some sort of pressure reducer I can see it would most likely be a wonder powder for the 308.
Hodgdon lists this as an appropriate powder for the 338 Federal and bullets up to 215 grains, so it seemed to me that it also might work in the 308 Win. with certain weight bullets. So out of curiosity, I picked up a pound to try in a 308 Win.
I tried 150's first. Velocity was similar to IMR 3031, TAC, etc. but required significantly more powder, so it didn't make much sense for that application.
I then tried Remington 165 Accutips (SSTs) and was surprised how much velocity it produced. Out of a 22" barrel, I worked up to 2,900 fps with no unusual pressure signs (typical velocities for this rifle with top book loads are around 2,800 fps). At ~2,875 FPS it seemed very easy on brass and showed less pressure signs than a lot of book loads I've used. Extreme spreads for three shots tended to be about 10 fps, regardless of load.
I did a little load work-up for groups. At 2,875, groups hovered around MOA with Win and Federal brass and the 165 SST.
