What cartridges do you use H4831sc for?
Anywhere from my 243 to my 300 win mag. works great...
What velocity do you get with H-4831sc and a 180 in the .300 Win. ?
Thanks,
Jim
75gr 4831SC gets me right at 3000fps with 180 Accubonds in a 24" 300WM. Pushed them a little faster, but accuracy suffered.
Kevin
A popular one in the 270 Win.
Thanks KDF, about the same here !
Jim
I use 76 grains under a 180 acubond in my sako trg. Holes touching at 100 yards, BUT 73, 74, and 75 grains does that too!
Outstanding in 257AI and my 270's. RL22 worked just a bit better in the 300 Win mag, tho if I were to use up all the RL22, I would be perfectly content to utilize the 4831SC.
I have used some in 270Win and for heavier bullets like 140's in my 260 Rem. Ran into a 300 weatherby user this weekend who used it with 150 grain in that. Can you elaborate on your initial question?

.270 Win, .260 Rem and .243 Win
John
.243 Win, .270 Win, .280 AI, 300 Win Mag,.257 DGR for me
surprisingly, if someone has a shot out 30/30... it will shoot well in one of those barrels..
seen the same thing in old 32 Win Specials...but them not being mine, I can only pass on what was stated...
of course it will not yield max velocity, but it will duplicate old original 30/30 MVs..from the 1890s
pushes 168TTSX's to 3350fps from my 300Roy
30-06, 300 win mag, 8mm mauser, 338 win mag, pretty damn versatile powder. Great powder that I've had good luck with in all rifles I've tried it in.
280AI and 140gr Accubonds, works very, very well.
Use it in my 264WM 85gr HP 3900fps Hodgdon load data 73gr 3812fps plus about 100fps for additional 4 inches of barrel
I use it in my 270 and my 300 weatherby. Both shoot good velocity and sub MOA
I've force-fed H-4831sc to just about every rifle cartridge I've loaded at one time or another. It has never produced a keeper load for me. That's not saying that it was totally bad, but just that another powder(s) performed better.
Use it in my 25-06 and 7mmRemMag
Using it in my 6.5 Swede. Very accurate, but I think the velocity could be better.
Tried it in my 280AI, and it didn't do well. Switched to R22 and that gun really started to shine.
62.5 grains under a Berger 180gr VLD in my 7mmWSM. Hopefully it will rock my new 7mm-08
270 Win., 25-06 Rem. Works damn well in those. Used to use it in my 7mm RM, but i no longer own the rifle; but it worked well in that also.
257 AI w/ 115s & heavier, 6.5-284 w/ everything, '06 w/ 180s & heavier.

I use the regular H4831 quite a bit.
This year it will be in a 243, 25-06, and a 270. And based on early results, probably a 30-06 too....
Its the go to powder in Ingwewife's .30-06 Casey....
I'm using it in 270,280 and 338 Win.Does well in all three.
'06 and '06 Imp with 180 and heavier.
.338 with 250 grainers.
25-06, 260, 7.5 Swiss, 280ai, 30-06, versatile powder

And you lived to tell about it? <GRIN>. Dang, that's a lot of lead moving quick right there!
If this question had been asked in 1960 the answer would have been, "Why everywhere that H4895 isn't just right." Life was simple then and those two powders cost less than a buck a pound.

Yeah 10-4 Sako,
When I catch myself in a hurry and flinchin w/ any 300,338,375 class rifles, I park them and go have a few rounds of 505. After that, they become amazingly tame all of a sudden LOL.

Have loads worked up, waiting for weather and time.
I use 60 grains with a 180 grain bullet in the 30-06
