Kinda looking for a one size fits all powder for several rifles, and these two powders both appear to be reasonable/good choices for the 30-06, 243,and 300win mag. Also interested in the 308, but I have some Re15 for it. Re15 also appears to be a good choice for 30-06 with 150gr bullets.

Any experience or preference with one over the other?

I much prefer H4350 over IMR 4831. Meters better and it's temperature stable whereas IMR 4831 is not. Like it better than IMR 4350 for the same reasons. E

You mean the SC version of H4350 meters better which it does.

I think that's the only one available now. They don't even call it SC anymore.

H4350 is hard to beat... works well for full loads in my Ruger #1 in 7x57mm as well. It's a good "all-around" powder for a good many calibers... and, as Eremicus mentions, it's one of Hodgdon's "EXTREME" powders which Hodgdon claims is not sensitive to temperatures.

I have found this claim to be true which makes H4350 a powder that one can work up loads with in the heat of Summer and enjoy the SAME muzzle velocity and, thus, the same point-of-impact in the dead of Winter as you got in the heat of Summer which takes all the "guess-work" out of sighting over long distances.

It meters well through my Lyman 505 powder measure too.

It does fine in my Redding BR-30. I don't weigh H4350 charges for my 243, and it's under MOA to 300 yards (five shot groups) with very little load development.

Either one should work plenty good in all 3 rounds. The 308's on it's own though..grin

You want a powder that meters very well and very close to H4350 in burn rate, and works well in '06, 243 & 300WM, look at PP4000MR, like Dobey said, 308 is on its own, RE15 will fit that bill. Example of what 4000MR does in my '06.

And it flows almost like water thru my Hornady measure.
