Hi friends. I have a question here and hope somebody can give me a good answer. Wich bullets on the folowin list should be cosidered premium bullets?

Swift: A-Frame, Scirocco
Remington: Core Lokt, Core Lokt Ultra
Nosler/CT: Ballistic Tip, Ballistic Silvertip, Accubond, Failsafe, Partition, Partition Gold
Speer: TB Bear Claw, Grand Slam, other Speer Bullets
Sierra: Game King, Pro Hunter, other Sierra Bullets
Hornady: Interlock, Interbond, SST Interlock, A-Max, V-Max
Barnes: Triple Shock, Solids, X-Bullets, Barnes Original
Norma and Lapua Bullets,
Hunting Bullets from other manufacturers

I realise that some of these are not thougt of as premium. What makes a Bullet being a Premium Bullet?

Thanks,
Kakali

I suppose your talking about premium hunting bullets. Here's my take from your list:

Swift: A-Frame, Scirocco
Remington: Core Lokt Ultra
Nosler/CT: Accubond, Failsafe, Partition, Partition Gold
Speer: TB Bear Claw, Grand Slam
Hornady: Interbond
Barnes: Triple Shock,Solids, X-Bullets, Barnes Original

Hope it helps. There are others from smaller manufacturer's but those listed are the most commonly encountered.

Don't forget the Hornady Interbond.

I sue the North Fork bonded bullets in my ,45-70, 7mm Mag and have them on hand to work up loads for in my .300 Win Mag. Norht Fork isn't as widely known as the others, but their bullets are, IMHO, the best bonded-core bullets available. The design is like the Speer Trophy Bonded with grooves in the shank like a Barnes TSX -- except there are lots more of them.

Looks like my fingers were misbehaving. That should have read "I use the North Fork..."

I see I misspelled "North Fork" later on as well...

I wrote that because I'm too blind to see that it was listed.

The .300 is still unfired and probably will be for another week or two unless the weather improves.

So far I have built a normal set of work-up loads using Barnes 180g TSX and H4831SC, about 30 cartridges, plus another 10 at one cartridge per powder level using H1000. I expect to get a good load with the H4831SC but am just checking velocity range with the H1000.

Waiting in the wings is a box of North Fork 180, Speer 168g Match BTHPs and Hornady 165-168g A-MAX. The North Forks will get loaded hot for hunting while with the BTHPs and A-MAX Ill be looking for a good load at .308 velocities (2700-2800fps).
