338 RCM and 210g Partition - 02/28/12
I've been playing with RL-17 in my 338 RCM and getting some decent results. I saw a thread a while back were Azshooter was using it. I couldn't find that thread again but I worked a few up.
I got the 225 interbonds running 2675 from my 20" ruger barrel so I loaded some up and put them on paper. They're grouping just over 1 MOA so it looks like a keeper load.
As I was headed out to put the 225's on paper I thought I might as well try some 210 partitions over RL-17 and chrony them while at the range. The hottest one I loaded clocked 2825 fps with just a bit of bolt lift resistance on extraction but the primer and case look good. I'll load some up a half a grain under that and see how they shoot.
A 210g partition at 2800 fps will be a pretty good load if it groups OK.
