I bought a bunch of the 140 gr E-Tips from the Nosler Pro Shop and I'm looking for some good load data.
I currently use Varget and Ramshot Big Game.
Anyone have some good load data? And yes, I understand that these loads work in your gun only, and to start low and go slow.

I use 41 grains of Varget under a 140 Ballistic Tip, Rem cases, WLR primers.

If I'm having a good day, it is hard to beat.

I've had excellent luck with Big Game and 140's in the 7mm-08. Ramshot lists 46.5 to 48.0 grains as maximum, depending on the bullet, and normally Ramshot powders produce the best accuracy when loaded near max.

Nosler included a note from the lab recommending that I start with the minimum load and not to exceed the mid load with the E-Tip.
Why? I get starting at the min load for general safety, but why include a max if I shouldn't exceed the mid load?
Would this apply to the Big Game data? So start low (47 g) and work up to what?

I use the old tried and true H4895. standard primers but I've never tried any magnums.
Why not call Nosler up and see why they say don't go past the middle load. And then come and tell us.

When loading Ramshot powders in cases up to about 50 grains of powder capacity I often start with Winchester Large Rifle primers, as they're about the hottest of the standard primers. If that doesn't work (and it usually does) I'll then try a magnum.

RS Big Game, std primers, about 1 gr under max worked up in my
LH 7-08 Ruger Hawkeye. Under 1" have not chronoed. My 7-08 seems
to take heavier loads to reach velocity.

Tried 150 gr E tips in 2 06,s about mid range loads close to
3000 FPS with H 4350. around 1".

The 140 gr. E-Tips have a long bearing surface and are made entirely of jacket material therefore are harder to engrave in the rifling; hence higher pressure. I think that is the reason for Nosler's warning. That is what I think....

The word from Nosler:
Decrease the max load for the 140 grain Accu or Partition by 2 grains and that is the max load for the E-Tip.
Longer bullet, more bearing surface, higher pressures.

Pharmseller.....what are you going to hunt with the 140's.....

Deer for sure, and maybe elk.
I have another Ultra Lightweight in .30-06 that has helped me punch 3 or 4 elk tags and that is my go to elk rifle, but if I get a hankering I might carry the 7mm-08.

Have you considered the 120TTSX for your mentioned game? They are screamers with Big Game in the 7/08....

I considered them until I saw the price tag.

Where I've checked - Powder Valley, Midway - the 120 gr TTSX is about a buck or so less per 50 than the 140 gr E-tip. Agree with mark above - the 120 TTSX and the 7-08 is a really flat shooting, really hard hitting combo.

Another vote for the 120 gr. TTSX. Shoots great in my 7mm-08 and hits hard at about 3100 fps.

I got the E-Tips as factory 2nds, $14.95/50.

I bought 15 bags.

Could always make some fancy sinkers with those E-tips

The E Tips shoot the best in my rifle out of a lot of others including Barnes XXX. Aprox 500 rds load data fussy Rugers!
