I experimented with RL-17 and got the best speeds. I also got speeds over what book max velocity said I should get while still a fair bit below book max on the powder charge. I'd start well below max loads and use a chronograph to work up.

Accuracy wasn't terrible, but I got better accruacy with H4350. It was a fair amount slower. Perhaps I gave up on the RL 17 too soon and could have found a load that would work, but the 4350 gave me what I wanted.

JMR40- how was the accuracy with 17 when you weren't running it at top end? I've found that if I back off a skosh, that two things will happen. First off it's running about like H4350 for speed and secondly I'm not giving up any accuracy.

Most and I'm not saying this is your way but most tend to run these things to the nutz and if it doesn't shoot that way then they're moving on.
