On recent loads in testing in my 300wsm, I have had some interesting fitting rounds.
I am using mostly once fired (not my rifle) Federal brass, full length sized, not trimmed as it shows within spec. When I get it in my rifle its snug (loaded with different bullets, undr mag length), and I have to push on it a little, and then use a little more then I would like to turn the bolt down where it goes.
Im not 'forcing' anything, just not being as smooth as I would like.
Ideas?
Bump shoulder back? Other than that I'm out of ideas.
Turn your FL die down a half turn to bump your shoulder back a bit and try to rechamber Casey...

I'm already camming over just a touch, and if I recall correctly, the empty, resized cases chamber fine...

All my WSM's, regardless of which caliber, need to cam over hard for easy chambering. Just a touch doesn't make it.
Bumping shoulders and camming over was something I regularly did with WSM's. Seems like a fetish for that style of cartridge.
Or it was fired in a sloppy chamber and expanded the base where it won't size. If the empty brass chambers good it must be in the lands or crimping the case is bulging it. Or possibly a neck thickness issue but not likely.
I had similar problems that were resolved by annealing the cases and then camming over hard.

I'm gonna take a guess at Redding dies? I agree on the annealing comment. If that doesn't work grinding down the shell holder a bit might help you get a bit more on the cam-over. RCBS and Hornady dies (300 WSM) did not give me any issues on shoulder bump, etc.

How many 300 wsm's do you load for?
Actually, they are RCBS dies. I do have a Redding neck sizing die in my set though, but I have not used it.
I will turn my die down a fair bit and try again.

Multiple Kimbers, 5 NH Winchesters, 4 Tikkas and one Sako.
Yes this is money well spent and the kit allows multiple useage of calibers.
